Turkish Mold sector; Machine Park and the work force it has created, it has become a force in the Turkish economy. They are making mold and final products to many countries and especially in European countries.
In this regard, President of Tool Manufacturers Association of Turkey (UKUB) Şamil Özoğul said that- “The total turnover of the world molding industry is around 84 Billion € and the sector is growing up by 6% for every year. The total turnover of mold industry in Turkey is € 3.5 Billion and it is trying to protect and increase its place in the global market. The mold industry is relatively “small” compared to other industries, but the impact of industrialization meaning “big” kind of industrial contribution. The production cannot be done without moldings. In order to be able to produce multiple parts in sustainable quality at competitive prices, mold is needed in every scene. Mold technology and production power must exist in order to design new vehicle or new product and to be placed in the market. It is necessary to produce a mold to transform an innovation into a final product.”
TAYSAD President Alper Kanca said that the Turkish Procurement Industry and Automotive Sector have maintained a steady progress in meeting the expectations of its stakeholders. “As it is known, during this period, last year our country passed a difficult exam and we survived this difficult period thanks to the political will and the determined stance of our security forces. Our country is on its way in an economically stable structure. In the past year, the Turkish Automotive Industry and Procurement Industry have given all the promises it has made to its global customers without compromise.” When both the general economic figures and the automotive sector figures are examined, we can see that our economy has improved well over the past year. All sector representatives ensure the continuity of the economy; continue to work to keep their competitiveness and increase their productivity” he said.
In the first quarter of 2017, the plastic industry shrunk domestic consumption. According to the report prepared by PAGEV, the sector produced 2.3 million tons of goods with increasing of 14% in volume terms and production of 8.8 billion dollars with increasing of 11% in value in January-March period. 2.1 million tons of this production was consumed in the domestic market by exporters such as automotive, packaging, construction and electronics and consumers. In the first quarter, the export of plastic products were 389.000 tons in value and 1 billion 11 million dollars in value.
